What happened to metal? I can understand it changing and adjusting, but WHAT THE FUCK!!!! You've got all these piece of shit bands like Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, and Linkin Park saying that they're metal. When GD and A7X are just punk in reality and Linkin Park is a computerized version of Limp Bizkit. Then, you get bands like TBDM, Suicide Silence, and JFAC. Heavier than the ones listed before, but NOT metal. They're just people playing random bullshit on guitars and screaming into a microphone like they're choking on a giant cock. Now they have more of a right to call themselves metal because you won't hear them on FCC controlled radio, but still. Then you've got bands that are just EXTREMELY shitty that are sellin' every freakin' album that hits the shelves. Bands like Atreyu and Slipknot. Atreyu has got the MOST GENERIC sound I have ever heard from a band in history. They fit right in the middle of the nu-metal fad with the rest of the 16 year-old kids going to warped tour. Then you've got Slipknot. How is beating $10 trash cans making music? Then, they were almost metal when they released Iowa in 2001 or 2002. I can't remember when it came out. However, in 2005, they lost all metal credibility they might've had when they made thier sound lighter and more radio friendly to sell more albums. Changing your sound to sell more albums is the exact definition of a "SELL-OUT". Music isn't supposed to be about making money. It's about doing something you love. Why do you think bands like DAATH and Bephelgor do this? They ain't makin' enough to put in a pile and piss on, yet they still do this. Anyways, I'm gonna do some more useless ranting in this post. I went to see Silent Civilian and Jacknife on Sunday. The opening band was Tales Tell Lies. A bunch of 18 - 19 year-old kids who could barely play the instruments they held. Right before they started playing, they started running in place like complete jackasses trying to hold-in thier piss. Then, they started with a god damn Suicide Silence cover?! What the fuck is today's society coming to? Suicide Silence released thier second album about 6 months ago. If you're gonna do a deathcore cover, you do Suffokate. Those kids had no knowledge of what they were doing, and they're probably gonna get a record label because they're little kids playing deathcore. That is my useless rant of the day.

I totally agree with everything you just said, though I may like 4-5 of those bands mentioned. I think metal has been destroyed ever since the early 2000's. The 60's-90's was metal in its absolute glory! Seriously! That was the golden ages of metal and music in general. Once 2000 hit, I could tell it was slowly starting to turn into a bunch of sell-out poser bands. Now metal has completley changed into a commercial genre. Not just metal though, all of the rock genres has changed into commercial SELL-OUTS! The rock industry is so horrible right now I just can't stand it. I miss the old days, why can't all bands follow the metal tradition?
